Screen Printed sleeve

When screen printing the ink for the gold was too transparent, needed to add more paint to the binder making it more difficult to push through the screen, but produced a more opaque result.

Printed onto 4 different types of paper, all within a neutral, earthy colour palette as I didn't was to distract from the bold print, and the neutral colours complimented the gold well. The cooler toned paper didn't compete as much with the gold, they complimented each other the most.

Gold shows the most on the darker paper, brown sugar paper and pearl blue card, but has a more shiny effect on the lighter coloured paper. I felt the Newsprint was the most successful, but was too flimsy to be used as an outer sleeve, so stuck it onto white card to increase the thickness. The pearl blue card was also one I liked, I found the smooth flat colour complimented the busy black pattern the most.
