- The application of colour to the images isn't flat, you can see the texture and brush strokes within the background colour.
- The type looks as though it has been made even if it is more modernist, think about how to incorporate this into own work. Write out the type, have the type inverted with a coloured in background? What is the significance?
- Use of block colour is really effective especially within the landscape like images. - Could develop a graphic to represent the type of conversation or the way it it ordered around specific parts, the layout might need to be reconfigured for this.
Could this be applied to the lines?
- Think about altering the lines to a similar appearance. Would look more tactile and hand made.
- Could the audience be involved? Have the lines be decided by the audience, incorporate the google speech and have people decide the tone based on what they think? TEST THIS.
- Incorporate the texture of the lines, dashed, stripes, dots etc.
Original tests with a negative line, made by accident, looks a lot like roads so need to make into a positive cut.
Produced positives of the shapes, could be something to stamp onto the map, people could respond to the words said in the conversation and apply it to the map.
Issues with it taking a while to stamp everything and would take ages if the map was large scale, other ways could be having a huge stamp that would span across the whole maps? Or could be on a roller so the audience can interact easier with the designs.
The making of the rollers was tricky as the pieces of paper kept falling off and wouldn't roll.
The final outcome was successful after a brief period of tests, would be improved by having the shapes more uniform and made from felt so they wouldn't be as rigid.
