Reprints and End Pages

Reprints:
When reprinting my paper I had to make alterations to a few pages so they all matched up. I needed to print the A2 photos onto a different paper stock that had been treated for the print process. I wanted to print onto Olin Regular at 120gsm due to the off-white tone, however it only came in A3 sheets so I went for the Matt 165 at 165gsm, as it was the best out of the options in Digital Print.

When reprinting the pages which had both text and image these were done on the laser printers so I needed to ensure the opacity of the text was reduced to 75% to match that of the inkjet printers.

End Pages:
Need end pages otherwise the text block can't be bound into cover as the first and last page would be stuck to it.

Made a mini mock up of a case bound book to test whether the kettle bound text block can be glued into the cover as it is or whether it needs the end pages gluing into the book.

End pages glued to the first page of book
End pages bound and glued into book.

Both successfully attached the end pages to the book. By gluing the end pages to the first page of the book means it gets turned over without noticing as its attached directly to the end page. This wouldn't be good in my book at the first page contains content,

By binding the end pages to the book it'll allow the first page to be seen without any difficulty.

What paper stock?
Paper from SCRAP Leeds

Pearl Grey

Antique White

Antique white was too warm when compared to the colour of the inside pages.
Pearl Grey matched the aesthetic of the outside but not the inside.
The paper from SCRAP allowed for the playful side of the content to be seen.

Thinking that the end pages shouldn't be too fun when you first open the book, otherwise it sort of gives the game away. Wanting to have them be more "dull" and then when you turn the page to see the inside pages it becomes super fun!
Decided to duplex Pearl Grey and the paper from SCRAP to achieve this.
