505 Research Developments - Figuring Things Out

Need to decide on an audience:

Thinking about what Toby Parkin said in Emily's interview he views audience as a guideline as many adults have the same level of scientific knowledge as a child. This is interesting as it presents an audience in relation to a topic.

Think I will target adults as a lot of research I've found targets children and I would really love to make something that sparks an interest for learning in adults.
So Target Audience = Adults

What am I going to be educating the audience on?

I think science is an interesting one, it links well to the idea of presenting complex systems as there are many of these within science. Would be good to look through biology textbook from A level to find these.

So science, but what aspect?
Biology is a good one as you can understand it with very little existing knowledge.
My A level biology textbook could be a good place to start, but also Bill Bryson's new book 'The Body' is really interesting, it presents a lot of information in a new way people might not expect.
- Can read through Felix's copy this eve

What am I aiming to do?
Possible Outcomes:

  • Redesigning a level text book information to reach more people.
  • Could incorporate medical information - thinking about Geigy design, providing more information into medical practicalities.
  • Make an interactive learning environment for adults - thinking along the lines of Wonderboom
  • Develop a system for making interactive learning material for science
  • Develop visuals to represent the information in 'The Body'. How though?
    - infographic
    - interactive experience
    - campaign
    - what other learning material?
