Design Principles (Task 1)

Key Word: Difficult

Synonyms:
 - problematic
 - severe
 - strenuous
 - tough
 - painful
 - challenging
 - laborious
Opposites:
 - easy
 - accessible
 - clear
 - obvious
 - smooth
 - simple

  • Playing with the opposite of difficult, taking easy shapes to make letter forms.
  • Manipulating easy shapes (squares, triangles, circles) to make more distinguishable shapes.
  • Thoughts of making anatomy difficult to read.
  • Taking elements/shapes from fonts (futura) to make letter forms.
- Are they legible?
- Do the adhere to basic anatomy of type/original font?
- Do they look like the original shape?

Thoughts on Project:
  • Outcomes look to simple, ideas not pushed far enough.
  • Found using the word to manipulate font harder than expected, needed to be more radical with changes to then home back in to create glyphs.
