Development of Papier Mache

Thinking of papier mache space helmet, very much a childlike approach to make something, reminds me of the science fair project, making things out of cardboard and paper etc.

- What to include on the helmet?
- Could it move? Would allow for more options.
- Should it be the main focus or should the presentation be key?
- How to incorporate into the design?

PRODUCTION:
-balloon (round, not regular - go to hobbycraft)
-papier mache paste/pva
-newspaper
-split pins (if wanting to add moving parts)
-cardboard for extremities

The moving part of the helmet could have acetate on, and could print the text over the acetate then attatch to the helmet, have it included in some way.
The idea of making a whole set with all the text and everything included to then just take a photo is the most appealing, would need to think about scale of text with everything.
Keep in the mindset of a 10 year old boy, have the essence of being childlike but so it looks like a deliberate design choice.

The helmet can move, but due to the production the pins have weakened and don't hold the cardboard pieces in place, to keep the position correct just use blue tac.

What to do next?
- think about how to photograph, lighting, backdrop etc.
- keep researching school projects to find techniques to incorporate.
- test photography of helmet.
