Photos taken using an overhead projector as well as an LED light, using a variety of gels to alter the colour of the lighting, similar to experiments done previously, but allows for more control over the positioning of the light. The overhead projector meant I could incorporate the projection into the design if I wanted, so I drew out a few designs to project on top of the lighting.
The doodle's were based off of the themes from the book, following the idea of space mostly, but also the DNA that has caused Auggie's facial deformity, and some simple doodle shapes that a kid might draw during class.

The red projector with blue LED, and the green projector with blue LED were the ones I felt was the most successful, the colours were strongest, other colours got washed out by the lighting.
The addition of the acetate sheets on the overhead projector didn't create the desired effect, and when combined with the astronaut is could start to look too busy and less considered. The practicalities of using the overhead projector also make it a less likely design element to carry forward, as I don't have access to one whenever I need, and no other departments have one I can borrow (had to sneak this from fine art).
