IMAGE AND TEXT - People responded well to the 'guide to guilt free breastfeeding' idea, suggested incorporating a more tongue and cheek humour to the poster as well as descriptions alongside the text explaining their purpose. E.g. ear defenders, to block out the tutting of old men as they pass etc.
IMAGE ONLY - The idea of having breastfeeding women on page 3 of a magazine/newspaper was also well received as an idea for image only as it would highlight the sexualisation of women's breasts in a humorous way.
TEXT ONLY - Having the information about the UK laws on breastfeeding, and include in context as a key focal point. Where to put the text is a big one, have in the tube and photograph it? Incorporate the shadow of a woman breastfeeding on the poster to be a way of encouraging women to breastfeed.
What to do next:
- Buy the sun newspaper, print images of breastfeeding women to replace the images on the pages, photocopy/scan on - be aware of the scale of the poster.
- Develop text poster, experiment with quotes to put as the text, with black background to make it more obvious. Print and take to London then photograph on the tube.
- Develop image for text piece of breastfeeding silhouette/arrow direction, edit into place or not?
