Research - Oripeau

Valentin Bajolle

'His graphic design style is characterized by a disciplined, logical and unique visual language.'

The repeating pattern creates a visual illusion in the image, gives the appearance of being 3-dimensional when it is flat. The repeat creates an intense image, becoming blurred and then clear and then blurred again - the use of pattern can be used to create a different impact on the audience.

Other work by Valentin Bajolle continues across this idea of intensely repeated patterns, pulling the audience deeper into the image. This piece is called vortex which is appropriate since the audience has the experience of being drawn into the image.
