London Underground Photos and Reflections

When I went to London at the weekend I took photos of different notices on the tube which could be related to the context of one of my posters.

Things I Notices:

  • The colour's are key to directing the the public to key images or information.
    - This could be reflected in the poster, the use of a hierarchy system to direct the audience to important parts of the text (breastfeeding, illegal etc.)
  • Women with children need to make themselves known to the public otherwise they won't be able to sit down. Saw one woman with a 'baby on board' badge to alert others of her situation.
    - Could this be applied to the poster, if so in what way?
  • The adverts on the tube have a curvature to them, at eye height and many people notice them when they're on the tube since they haven't got anything else to do (apart from read a book if they're prepared). The tinder ad played on the context of where the ad was placed (the tube) and used it to create a funny ad.
    - Could use this within poster, apply the context to the text of the poster as well as the design decisions.
