Poster (text only) Development

Adding the silhouette of women breast feeding to the text, compromised the fact that it should be text only. The silhouette was suggested during a crit but when placed onto the poster it fell flat, the design didn't have a sense of intrigue and didn't communicate the idea that you can breastfeed wherever since the images of women breastfeeding didn't contain any potentially 'controversial' imagery.

Thinking of ways to make the topic seem more controversial, show the passion behind some of the news articles and people involved, but also highlight some of the ridiculousness that is accompanied when a woman decides to breastfeed.
Scanned cut outs of newspaper headlines found about breastfeeding as well as selected quotes from news paper articles.

 
Using the newspaper articles as a background (to the text to demonstrate the points previously stated) has the appearance of a public service announcement almost.
When adding text over the top the scans were inverted and darkened as to not distract from the quote on the poster. The text was tested in a white box using the same typeface as the guardian (link to website with typefaces), makes the poster look like a notice from the 10 o'clock news.

The overall appearance is more eye catching than earlier versions, still could do with revising slightly. Need to consider having where the quote has derived from on the poster, if so how to include? 

Feedback from peers: 

• The text in the top image works better in combination with the background, but the bottom one stands out more.
• As the aim is to have it look like a newspaper headline, and while the second image uses the white background to amplify this idea, the top image is still instantly recognisable as trying to achieve this, and works just as well.
• The second image looks like a collage, whereas the first looks more digitally created - could further the idea of a collage by having the white box appear as though it has been hand cut also.
