A wide range of letterforms were developed, there was little to no consistency in anatomy of the letters, each glyph had it own format and appeared totally differently.
When organised into the alphabet the differences int he letterforms is clearly visible. The 's' and 'j'have extremely fluid strokes, whereas 'b' and 'r' have a more rigid structure.
Coms counters are rounded and others are angular, again adding to the ambiguity of the typeface.
What would it look like in the context of the map?
What impression would it communicate to the audience?
Here we can see that the typeface become lost very quickly in the map.
The letterforms are too similar to the lines surrounding, making it difficult to distinguish what's a letter and what's a line.
The typeface is difficult to read when used a body text, however once you zoom in on it it's more legible.
The overall appearance of the typeface is disorderly, this doesn't compliment the nature of the map well as the aim is to demonstrate the order within the conversation.
Maybe revisit as project develops?
