No new information of design boards, they should have the key points highlights and roughly explained.
Rationale
- Needs to include brief sheet for both SB1 and SB2, put the current brief in, not a past brief.
- Why this brief? Could comments of how the summer project developed into the brief.
Research
- In response to the brief, research into answering the brief, not to the project in general.
- Research into production methods, into how people read, different designers etc go on this board.
- Research to the place is also included in this section.
Initial Ideas
- Initial ideas into the brief, not the project in general.
- Don't need to be developed ideas, can be sketches, mindmaps, etc.
- What sizes, what formats, what layout etc, these should be included in these boards, nothing finalised.
Development
- Maybe one set of boards that's experimentation, did you test a few of your initial ideas.
- Then a second set that is focusing more on the final idea development, evaluate this, what was the aim of the development and what did you achieve.
- Focus on production, can include content but it needs to be focused on the production.
- Use numbering system to aid the design of the board, then reference the numbers in the text.
- If your idea/brief changed significantly evidence this on the development boards.
Final Outcome
- Evaluating development
- Refinement with well photographed imagery and clearly communicated ideas
- For SB2 have Muck-ups/Prototypes of the final idea (would be stills).
Evaluation
- Reflecting of the brief, not the module. What worked, what didn't?
Top Tips
- Use an many images as possible, they show the development more than the words.
- Evaluation points, why you did certain things and how it worked.
- Say it how it is, what happened, what didn't work, evidence how you overcame the issues.
- A linear narrative
- If there is a paragraph of text key points clear (bold).
- Make the process as concise as possible.
- An evaluative paragraph on each board.
To do for this:
- Go through the projects and sketchbook to bullet point key stages throughout these 5 sections.
- Write these up and flesh them out.
To Upload: Save as JPG and import them to on blog post (design boards SB1, Design Boards SB2). res at 300 or above.
