- The stop motion animations were received well, really liked how they were abstract and created a soundscape.
- Feel as though it will be successful if turned onto a VR experience, but also that the floor animations would work well if different points triggered different sounds.
Need to think about which one of these is more effective, but also more achievable.
- Need to think about who I'm targeting and why.
Would this be people who've been to the fringe before, or am I targeting a new audience.
Do I want it to be related to the fringe? - I feel like stepping away from the fringe would allow me to have more freedom when designing, and create a truly immersive experience.
Wanting to have the piece be something to experience for the sake of experiencing something new, not to be tied to the fringe.
The idea of a VR headset also allows this to be true, a VR experience is still a novelty for some and would lend itself well to the idea of a journey.
- Need to research into VR to see what it is capable of, and if I would be able to replicate it in any way.
- Think if the animations were done over the video it would need to be in colour to add more to what's happening.
Liked this idea, but the practicial side of it is difficult to achieve, would have to re-edit and re-animate every photo for each. Maybe test with one animation and see the effect.
- They responded well to the idea of having buildings as landmarks.
- White on black background was preferred over any other tests done
This would work really well with a VR experience as there isn't an end to where you would be going, no horizon, makes it mot limited.
- Louis mentioned Audacity software to edit the audio on, very easy software.
Where to go:
- Research and think about the applications of VR and how this could impact the way I animate my soundscape.
- Think about my target audience and thus where it should go.
- Add in buildings as landmarks to add an extra element of direction.
- Edit the audio to develop a strong audio recording to base around.
