A few developments take from the stuff we made in the week to tie off loose ends.
- Watch, need to design patterns for these, use the existing patterns developed during the week.
- Emails, design a template for the emails, and make a mock-up. Again use patterns already developed during the week to increase continuity.
Watch:
- Need to make sure they're wearable.
- Have options, people can choose the one that best suits them.
- Consider where the shapes would be places on the watch, on the strap, on the clock face etc.
- Would the watch have any functions?
Experimentation:
- Tested different patterns on the watch face, seeing which worked best with the design.
- Tried the colours on the band being the same throughout, however felt there could have been some colour used to separate the design up a little.
Final Designs:
Variations within the neon colour, colours match that of the other products in the pack, as well as the shape placement.
- The shapes on the strap are more loud, whereas the shape behind the clock face is a more understated design, its more discrete.
Email:
- Needs to be clear and easy to read, as well as engaging.
- Can incorporate the shapes from other products and use for the background or header etc.
- Think about how colour could be incorporated into the designs.
- Experimenting with simple vs complex figuring out what is the best format.
- Think the fewer larger shapes works better, it links to the calendar more visually than the large amount of smaller shapes.
- The text boxes need to be considered in more context, add more text and experiment again.
- Too busy with the small shapes and darker shapes for subsections., would make it difficult to read the text.
- The lighter text boxes for the subsections don't work too well as they end up being off the shapes making them look uneven.
- The space around the subheadings is good, allows the text to breath and doesn't look as cramped.
- The lighter shapes being the subsections works better too, it allows you to read it fully.
- the different weight in the type develops a hierarchy within the email.
-Tested with larger shapes for the header and this works best.
- Same issues with subsections as before so will alter these.
- Best outcome, everything is legible, the hierarchy within the type works well..
- The direction of the text is good, people will read it the way we want them to.
- Larger shapes used within the header create a sense of overall calm, they're a lot less chaotic than the smaller shapes.
Placed in browser as a mock-up:
^What you'd see.
^ When you'd scroll down.
Ways to improve if had more time:
- Could animate the shapes (come back to this once all other briefs are completed) think about the movement of clocks and time as inspo.
- Add colour somehow, could be behind the shapes? Would it look to chaotic?
