Significance of Numbers - Talk with Kristen

Wanting to talk with Kristen in 3rd year graphics, she developed a variable typeface and wanted to hear her thoughts about my project, discuss where to go with it further take her ideas on-board etc.

NOTES:
> Used a font making programme for her own variable typeface, used font lab (windows) not the best software to use, was buggy and didn't let her export it as a variable typeface.
 - Developed the typeface on illustrator beforehand, made own typeface, would be easier for if using an existing typeface.

> Feels as though the typeface should move, we discussed the different ways this could work, the idea of scale came out as a really strong idea within the concept.
 - As the whole system is based around this random scaling so should the outcome.
 - We discussed whether using image would benefit the outcome, or keeping things text based. Thought that for a potential animation having the system be text based would be the best way to go. It would make it easier to animate if this was a route to go down.

> Thinking of ways to develop this forward, Kristen responded well to the publication idea I had but felt it would be a shame to lose the potential for animation by using this method (which I agree with).
 - When thinking and discussing this further we both came to the conclusion that we didn't need to chose one or the other, with new technology of AR one or all of the type based posters could be a way to have both ideas included. You could scan the poster with your phone and the text begins to animate?

> When talking through the overall concept it became clear that there needed to be an element that would provide context for the content in the publication.
 - This could be an equation that explains the system, or an old fashion typeset format explaining how you get from one measurement to the next (thinking back to the original video).

> Kristen also let me know about the variable typefaces available in illustrator, again making it easier to develop the visuals for the project, the weight, scale and slant can all be altered.
 - This would be good for animating, as well as developing a visual for potential publication.

- Think about Mushama Murakami and Roberto Warner for the interactive AR type posters, digital work being presented digitally as well as physical manipulation. Think about how this could work when developing further.
