Working on the layout development, modular system, organising the words into categories and developing these to fit into specific shapes.
Start with the layout from a medieval publication then develop further to an outcome that is legible, reads in the right direction as well as incorporating the modular element.
- had to alter some existing layouts as when I gave them to people to read they couldn't.
- Colour scheme, thinking about stickiing with black and white, Dom mentioned about using chalk board as inspiration this would compliment the black and white.
- The overall design looks more considered with the colours inverted, looking like chalk on a black board.
Swatched screen print ink to get consistency right, also tried with the chalk in binder, wouldnt work as I couldn't get the chalk ground down fine enough so it's very likely it would tear the screen if I tried to print with it. Also the chalk didn't really transfer any colour to the binder, it was just clear with chunks of chalk in it.
Think of the applications of this - think about research into Roberto Warner, kinetic type, does that make sense for this? Could be an application:
