Medieval Publication Layout
- Looking into how to layout the text for the inside pages, initial designs were very basic and didn't have any relevance to my research.
- Thinking of looking at the layout in medieval publications again, having this as a design element that isn't too heavily obvious.
A lot of the publications I've found have a similar layout to these, with breaks where there is a new sentence, often with a decorative capital letter.
Thinking of using the breaks within the text, wanting to create some sort of system.

Really like the way these look, reminds me of responsive poetry with the various layout.
The fact that there is a system to the layout, however the system itself is based on something very arbitrary relates well to the imperial measurement system itself.
- Need to experiment more with how the pages will look, will there be texture? will there be image? how would that work with the black and white format as well as the posters.
- Need to compliment not contrast!
use this for conversions
How does this communicate?
- has a consistent layout, also compliments the posters with a more liner format.
- is lacking in the design area surrounding the text, it needs more adding to it (test over weekend).
Map Layout
> Having the text follow the route creates a winding way of reading the type, it isn't easy to read, it's more complicated.
- does this work with the concept?
- did it work with the modular posters?

> When isolated they looks very odd, would need to have something surrounding them, images/textures etc.
- could be inspired by the measurments?
- this could work with the text organised by medieval publications.
> Thinking about what these textures/images would be?
- could get an illustrator to draw based off the works, just doodle/textures etc.
- could take rubbings from the locations
- could get photographer to take pictures and edit them to be more like textures?
