Further Ideas and Experiments

Handling book with paint on fingers:
- Wanting to see how I'd handle a publication, where would I actually place my hands.

- a lot on the back page
- not so much on the inside

Thinking about how to bring other senses attention to this aspect, placing text where the hands would go.

Using foiling as a way to bring the eyes attention to movements the hand makes:
Type placed where hands go:

Foil across whole page of text:

Foil places where hands go on a whole page of text:

- Here specific patches of text are covered with foil.
- The effect is subtle but you notice it once it catches the light.
- Really like the effect of this, maybe there could be a way it could be interactive with the audience, not having to have paint of their hands but using thermochromic paper? When they touch it the colour changes?

Experimenting with the idea of tracking and rest points on an overlay:

- Sticker choice isn't good.
- Very overwhelming, is this what I want?

Added flocked paper as a texture where titles would be:

- Looks very childish
- Don't like it in this format, could have better ways of achieving this.

  • Wanting to go down more of a interactive approach. But why?
  • Feel physical things are lacking in impact, installation might be better? Projection mapping? TEST THIS
Thought the foiling effect wasn't super obvious in real life.
- thinking about how to use this?

Really wanting to experiment, need to push further. How to do this?

Scanned the books, trying to see what effect there could be on the type? Could be an effect for the type?

Don't look like much from far away, but when you zoom in:

> There are really interesting shapes and colours within the letters as they're reflecting type.
> Really want them to move or have a sense of motion within them, they look as though they're moving.
- Maybe this could be the way humans can interact with an installation?
- When people look at specific points they change
- When people touch the wall it changes
- When people walk it changes
^ Could be different changes for all of these?
> Love the colours, it really reminds me of one of he exhibitions in olafur's 'in real life' exhibition.
