Development:
Designing exhibition catalogue incorporating the photos seen above.
1. Developing with fold idea
- Translated one earlier test to suit the images and text that will be exhibited in the exhibition.
The page of the publication have to be folded over the the spine of the next page in order to see the full picture. Then you can see the picture and read the text that goes with it allowing the book to make sense.
Full spread:
Being used:
> The page layouts really work when folding over to see the full image. It makes the text make more sense as the only text you can see when it's folded is the text relating to the image.
- Really forces you to interact with the publication and figure out how to use it. Definitely controls the audience making them aware of their body.
- Highlights the way we normally look at books as this way is different.
- Without being told how it works it's tricky to figure out, I gave it to my stepmum and she struggled but got there in the end. I quite like this, you have to persevere.
2. Developing fold with colour

^ Taking colour palette inspiration
Previous book experiment but incorporating colour into the works, having the some of the images be purple and orange others remaining black and white.
- Provides a sense of structure for the catalogue people know to match up colours so fewer simply black and white images.
- Don't know if I like the effect it has, feel like the colours should be separate to the images as part of the intervention (like circles over the top, or as cut outs etc).
- Adding colour does bring light to the publication though. In peer research many people thought the fluxus images were about war or struggle.
