Looking into the Way People Interact with Galleries

Thinking of using the collated images of people in galleries to highlight the way people interact with work. Taking inspiration from Olafur Eliasson's 'Abstract' episode on netflix (reflecting a lot about the audience's interaction with the work).

Simply placed images into a basic centred layout on a page:

Then cropped in on the individual/s in the image:

  • There is something about the images of people looking art art and existing in no space that is really interesting.
    - How could this be translated to screen?
    - Could have the images be cropped on a screen but overtime the rest off the image appears? This would have a similar effect to the thermochromic paper.
  • It draws the audience's attention to the human in the photograph as that's all they can see. Proposes questions about the photographs, makes the audience wonder what they're looking at.
  • It reminds me of one of the works from the Rodina (with the stickers) maybe this could be turned onto something interactive? People could be provided with stickers of different objects and asked to place them on the book?
