Circle Cut Outs Development

Reflecting on what peers said in crit about holding up the book with circles cut out to fill in the gaps.
 - Thinking this could potentially be an intervention in the exhibition? Have the book work with whats being exhibited?

Experimented with this at home:

> It worked really well, could easily match up the picture the the picture on the background easily.
 - not sure if it brought attention to the body though.

Wondering what the purpose of the book would be?
 - If it only works at the exhibition is feels a little useless as other interventions can be made (e.g. directions etc) that bring attention to the body.
 - It shows the same work twice and then it wouldn't work out of content. Maybe the website could come into this, you could access the website to find the images to fill in the gaps. TEST THIS
 - Maybe the publication could be a catalogue but for after the exhibition, where people would be able to view the work in a new way?

Need to establish the relationship between the exhibition, publication and website.

Option 1
> Exhibition - own event displaying fluxus work. Has interventions to make the audience aware of their body (includes interactive event).
> Publication - catalogue of exhibition to bring attention to the audiences body (fold page was successful at this).
> Screen - Present information about the exhibition, location, date, etc. Adopting the techniques used in the exhibition.

Option 2
> Exhibition - own event displaying fluxus work. Has intervention (publication).
> Publication - Catalogue of work that had circles cut out where audience has to match them up to the works in exhibition in order to see full image in catalogue.
> Screen - Website proposing information about the exhibition but also provides images of works so audience can refer to website to fill in the circles cut out from catalogue.

Explore these two options, see which is most appropriate.

Here the circles on the floor could be positioned where the audience has to stand and hold up the book with cut outs in order to see the full image.
- Circles labelled with page number for that image.

> Feel like this is very instructive, the audience doesn't find the position or page for themselves.
 - Is this bad? Should the audience have more freedom?7
> Thinking back to Olafur Eliasson and how the exhibition and work shouldn't have to be explained to the audience, presents an idea that the audience isn't intelligent enough to figure it our for themselves.

Need to think about the screen, how could this translate to screen?
- Previous experiment early on (see this blog) incorporates some of the ideas spoken about in the crit.
> Having to direct the audience.
