Machine for Making Type - Machine Development

From crit:

Suggestions of using a peg board with individual components to piece together to make the typeface, make out of wood. If possibilities were limitless have large scale, as big as a wall.

Another suggestion was to make spinning circles game to form typeface, tested this idea but the practicality of making circular slabs move independently and not interrupting the position of any other slabs was very difficult.
A final idea of using a Rubik's cube to create typeface was suggested, replacing the stickers of an existing Rubik's cube with stickers designed to match up and produce the letterforms. Tested and decided to role with it, most practical idea to achieve in time frame.

Size of Rubik's cube?
Original 3x3.
Varieties include the pocket cube, 2x2, as well as grids ranging from 4x4 to 8x8.
The alphabet could span across the cubes to increase difficulty.

How to present?
Rubik's cube colours are red, green, yellow, blue, orange, and white. Try incorporating these into squares.
Black and white would look more clean, but loose the essence of the original Rubik's cube. Also any letters that don't use all 9 squares will leave empty squares with no knowledge of where they go.
