Ideas for cake:

• Using tin foil to make an indentation in the cake during the baking, once cake is ready cover with icing or jam to make the cake into a stamp. Could use cupcake to make individual stamps?
• Cut a white cake into long letters, place into baking dish and cover with chocolate cake mix, cook and slice in the direction of the text to reveal the letters.
• Could make individual cakes and decorate with letters, the incorporate into a game of some sort.

Production:
Went with the idea of cutting the cake to produce the letters. The shape of the letters was noticeable from the top of the cake so tried to lessen the effect by adding icing. One baked and cut the letters looked a lot like HO instead of HI, but the idea was there.

If we were to do it again we'd make the letters smaller so they weren't detectable from the outside of the cake, but also make the letters more obvious so they read easily once cut.
