406 Pat Workshop Consolidation and Development

Workshop:

Themes:
Road markings - shapes, direction
Graffiti - rubbish, words.
Street signs - direction, type, erosion.
Taking - conversations, birds, people.
Sounds - ambulances, yelling, music, busking.

Process:
Timeline - forward, backward, remembering in reverse.
Graphs - pie chart, on paper, demonstrate physically represent, diagrams.
Grids - isometric, unconventional.
Order - A-Z, favourite too least favourite. 

Topography:
Furniture, cake, croissant height, bricks in a building, amount of ice in a drink, size of head on beer at different pubs, puddles.

Sounds and Conversations:
Transport - buses, ambulance, police, aeroplane, bikes, cars.
Duration - measure and compare it.
Conversations - accent, measure by topic, sign language, hand symbols, narrate it (script).
Music - people in public, busking. 





Ideas: 

1. Create a map of the walk from Liberty Park to Leeds Arts Uni by using only google translate.
- Think about how to display, have someone follow the directions to try and get from A to B.
The directions through every language on
google translate.
The directions through the first 18
languages on google translate.






















2. Create a map of a conversation by using only words in alphabetical order.
- Place into the format of a dictionary.
- Have laid out like a graph.
- Cut audio into a list.

3. Create the map of streetlights by using only...
- height
- width/circumference/photos





Thinking of presenting the information about streetlights in a more visual way as the differences between streetlights is often at the top and I can't measure or get close ups of this information. Presenting the information as a collection of photos could be more information is able to be displayed. Could have facts about streetlights as well, make more specific to Leeds, could become a was of looking into Leeds history.
