BRANDING - Presentation Feedback

Some Comments:

  • Interesting concept.
  • Overall good concept to summarise some approaches but isn't very inclusive of projects covering impactful or sentimental themes.
  • The typeface isn't obviously one typeface but it's playful and it works because of how interesting all the individual letters are.
  • Really like the posters, but the use of black for the typeface makes it not very noticeable against the blue.
  • Black text is difficult to read on the poster.
  • Really nice  invitations.
  • Be careful with the sticker word idea, people might use it to write rude words.
  • Sticker idea is a bit confusing, not sure if it's necessary.
  • Professional presentation, ideas were made clear.
  • Confident presentation interacting with the audience.
  • The name tag idea is lovely and personal as well as subtle.
  • Nice inspiration take from lock inspiration for the animations.

General Feedback:

People like the overall themes, some found the typeface to be too confusing as the characters were all very different. However people did like the typeface as the fun, playful aesthetic was communicated to the audience clearly.

The use of the blue was highlighted as an issue by the audience, people felt that the blue was too dark meaning the title on the poster was difficult too read. As a group we agree with this and if alteration were to be made the title would be moved to the top of the page into the white space so it can be read easily.
The colour blue was based off of the vinyl in class and could easily be changed to a lighter colour that doesn't look as serious since the typeface is more playful.

People liked the name tags, this seemed to be a highlight, as well as the vinyl in the exhibition and the invitations.

A few people had issues with the use of their key cut as a way to recognise their work, this was discussed within the group as a few people thought there might be issues. So the cut of the key could be simplified to something that resembles the key but wouldn't be replicated.

Things that could be improved:

 - The colour blue could be lightened, to make the overall appearance less serious.
 - Key cuts as an organisation system could be simplified as to not provide too much detail about the key's of those exhibiting work.
 - Having elements of the typeface being more refined, could be something to have experimented with as some people found ti difficult to read. Changes to line weight as well as increasing the size of a few letters could increase the overall legibility.
