Photographs in Poster Format

Need to consider the format of the photo and where to include other text or QR codes if they're going to be placed within the poster.

Would allow for information to be presented on the left hand side of the poster, could use a similar technique as the 'when nurture calls' campaign, having information about the topic presented in a box.
Here, placed in black and white with the Equality Act 2010 section about breastfeeding in public placed on the left. The tone of the photo looks more sinister with the text, which isn't the intent in the photograph.

Most successful image, the model looks less serious as the composition works well. The background also has a few people in it to show that the person is in public, however, the blanket needs to be added.

Final image with blanket over the top, looks very much like the first image on the post but is focused more central.

Adding text

Having the text across the top:

  • Being at the top of the poster made it the first thing the audience read, not the actual text on the eye mask.
  • Larger text was too distracting from the whole image.
  • The type was different to that on the eye mask, need to have them the same for consistency.
Having the text underneath:

  • Had to be in boxes as there is more content on the bottom of the poster.
  • Looks a lot like subtitles, doesn't demonstrate a link as such, looks as though it is a still from a film rather than a poster demonstrating an issue.
The text wasn't working as well, needed to find another way to attach a link. Think about QR codes.
