Intervention Workshop

  • Flooding road signs in Sheffield at the moment, could change the road signs to shay shark warning or something silly to lighten the mood. Or maybe to highlight why there's so much rain.
  • Bad graphics in Uni, low res images in mac suites, have a screen next to them highlighting the crap imagery.
  • Millennium square screen, the idea of a content overload how to create something that takes a break.
  • Piccadilly Circus, Times square type places - an idea of the screens taking a break desktop imagery etc.
The idea of screens taking a break is the stronger idea.

- Having the screen go blank, where would this work best, times square has a lot of screens so one screen going off probably wouldn't be noticeable. In Piccadilly circus there are fewer screens so if they went off it would be a much more noticeable change.

- Having the screen go off with the windows noise, then either the desktop appears could be windows98 or windows10, which would be more effective.
- OR the screen goes straight onto a screensaver mode, with the icon that bounces across the screen.

- Windows 98 is more plain as well as still being very recognisable. Is it too old?
- Could change the layout to say 'Piccadilly Screen 1', 'Piccadilly Screen 2' as if someone is trying to get the screen to work again?
- Try find a simulator for the websites.

Could be as though the "person" controlling the screens hasn't noticed something is wrong, then they have to fix it. Bring's people's attention to the screen in a non persuasive way.

Edited images as if someone has realised the screen has suddenly broken.
Thinking about adding the sleep animation before this so:
 - Screen goes blank
 - Sleep comes on
 - Mouse moves to open add
 - Clicks multiple Coca Cola ad multiple times with error noise
 - Lots of Coca Cola ad tabs pop up
