When talking to Adam from NOVAK he said when they're devising a new project they go to the location and figure out where the projectors would be placed and then devise a virtual drawing of the space, this can be done through the use of a 3D camera they said they sometime have access to.
This would be something to do if I was producing this piece professionally, however, with the limitations I have I need to think around this.
For testing projections that span across the walls of the space could film the projection happening in the corner of a room, this would have the same impact and emulate what the projection could look like.
- Rent out projector and test this.
Could also make a mini 3D cardboard version of the shipping container and attempt to project into this, could be less effective but worth a try.
What size shipping container would I project into?
Standard Shipping container dimensions:
8ft (2.43m) wide, 8.5ft (2.59m) high and come in two lengths; 20ft (6.06m) and 40ft (12.2m)

I think the longer the more of a journey it would feel, the 10ft is definitely too small, and so may be the 20ft.
Using the 40ft people would be able to spend a decent amount of time walking around the space and really get lost in the projections.
How to make the experience just as effective for those who are deaf or hard of hearing?
Again when talking to Adam form NOVAK they were currently working on a very accurate piece of projection mapping onto Doncaster minster. It was a piece responding to audio, they were approached by a charity for people who are deaf and hard of hearing and were asked to devise a way for those who can't hear the audio to still experience it in a way.
They had made these chairs that vibrate in time with the audio for people to sit on as they watch the projections. Maybe something like this could be incorporated if the project was to be completed professionally.
- Instead of using chairs could have bands to put around your wrists so you can still move around the space.
- Would need to be mobile as the aim is to have people walking around.
