Brief of the Week 2 - Logos and Colour Scheme

Figuring out a colour palette:
- Keeping this gender neutral.
- Chosen these CMYK to keep everything consistent across the group: C99 M0 Y48 K0, C39 M0 Y7 K0, C0 M64 Y100 K0, C0 M19 Y89 K0.

- Also keeping the typeface to a more playful type, prevents things from appearing to serious and scary as we want to encourage people rather than deter them.

Ideas for the logo:
- Keeping this circular, relating to a clock and how you read it.
- Name of the subscription service being resolution, keeping it simple and informative.
- The typeface being consistent with the logo and the products

- The dots to separate the words work well, they prevent the audience from getting confused with the cyclical text.
- The heavier weighted text looks a bit aggressive, would need to be smaller or in a lighter weighted font.
- Uppercase text also works better as the letters with long ascenders in lowercase set the shape out of balance. I tried shortening them but they still made the whole design look wonky.

Initial Thoughts for Visuals:
1.

- Paper cut shapes, allowing the lines to appear more organic creating a less intimidating aesthetic aiming to encourage people to start planning more.
- The colour scheme was applied after through photoshop to match the colours other members of the group have used.
- The shapes have been kept simple with  scattered layout so any informtions, eg to do list, or calender, could be laid over the top and wouldn't be compromised by the design.
- The scattered effect was inspired by a range of origami papers I had seen during a workshop.

2.

- Developments on the visuals done on Illustrator, again sticking to simple shapes.
- Trying to see how far I could push the shapes to develop as many outcomes as possible. Began experimenting with overlays, this also brings in more colours to the palette.
- The shapes created a sense of calm and serene, however as they had been digitally rendered they appeared slightly flat.

To Do Next:
- Meet with group to discuss designs and develop an overall style everyone can follow.
- Develop individual assets using said style.
