As the imperial system itself doesn't have any strong visuals I wanted to work with illustrators to see if there were any identifying visuals that came to mind.

The drawings are very bonkers, not sure how to incorporate these into the project, they could become something for the cover, or with the conversion pages?
Could use these for headers perhaps?
Having the illustrations incorporated into the layout?
The more random, bonkers illustrations do tie in well into the idea that the imperial system has come from nowhere.
Makes it look like a fairlytale/ story.
WHY WOULD I USE ILLUSTRATION?
- to demonstrate something that doesn't exist as a visual?
- show the random nature of the measurement system through drawings?
IS THIS WHAT I WANT TO COMMUNICATE?
- I've been most interested in the history, wanting to tell people about it because it is really random.
- Feel like the path I've been going on is strong but it needs something to elevate it. Could that be illustration?
What to do Next?
- Print out a mock up and see what works and what doesn't.
- Talk to tutors and peers about the direction of the project.
- Test a little more with the use of illustration.
