Feedback from Post-it Crit:
- I really like the idea of masking areas of type with circles, it is a strong graphic within the context to back it up. Let wanting to know more after seeing the poster.
- Clean aesthetic
- Interesting to see the common tracks for people's eyes, almost follows how you read.
Feedback through discussion:
- Find the tactility of the cut outs interesting. The idea of the hands being able to notice what the eyes do.
- The intermixing of systems could be something to look into.
- The cut outs make you aware of one system by using another. So using your hands to notice the patterns your eyes make and vice versa.
What to do next?
Clarify the message/issue - what is it I want to communicate or tackle?
Develop a further understanding of somaesthetics to apply it properly.
Other work made in the session:
- I asked people to place the yellow circle where they first looked, the holographic circle where they looked second, and the blue circle where they looked third.
- Placed the text in different ways to see if there was anything that stood out from people's responses or not.

- Got people to do this individually rather than all on the same sheet as I didn't want one person's actions to influence another.
- Wanting to see the impact of text positioning on where we focus. Seen a lot of this through research using thermal cameras track eyesight but I wanted to test it for myself.
Overlaid the responses:
There is a slight correlation to where people tent to look on the page.
- Most of the yellow dots are placed higher up
- Holographic dots hang around the yellow ones
- Blue dots lower down on the page.
I think the first look is the most important, it shows where people's eyes are naturally drawn before fully taking in the whole picture.
I think the circles create an interesting visual and instantly draw you eyes attention to these points when looking at them. Especially on the individual tests.
How could this react to people's criticism responses?
- Something I need to think about more over the weekend.
